چکیده
ABSTRACT Among the intermediate mass pulsating stars known as ? Sct is a subset of high-amplitude and predominantly radial-mode pulsators (HADS) stars. From more than 2000 observed by Kepler space mission, only two HADS were detected. We investigate perplexing these stars, KIC 5950759. study its variability using ground- space-based photometry, determine atmospheric parameters from spectroscopy perform asteroseismic modelling to constrain evolutionary stage. spectroscopy, we find that 5950759 metal-poor star, which in agreement with inferred metallicity needed reproduce pulsation mode frequencies non-adiabatic models. Furthermore, combine ground-based WASP measure linear change period order $\dot{P}/P \simeq 10^{-6}$ yr?1 for both fundamental first overtone radial modes across time base several years, at least orders magnitude larger predicted evolution models, largest measured star date. Our analysis indicates near short-lived contraction phase terminal-age main sequence, sub-solar making it candidate SX Phe star. unique object among thousands warrants further ascertain why are evolving remarkably faster stellar evolution.

Amplitude and Frequency/Phase Modulation
I always had difficulties in understanding frequency modulation (FM) and its frequency spectrum. Even for the pure tone modulation, the FM spectrum consists of an infinite number of sidebands whose signs change from one sideband to the next one and whose amplitudes are given by the horrible Bessel functions. . . I work for Zurich Instruments, a Swiss maker of lock-in amplifiers and it has becom...

متن کاملDetection of combined frequency and amplitude modulation.
This article is concerned with the detection of mixed modulation (MM), i.e., simultaneously occurring amplitude modulation (AM) and frequency modulation (FM). In experiment 1, an adaptive two-alternative forced-choice task was used to determine thresholds for detecting AM alone. Then, thresholds for detecting FM were determined for stimuli which had a fixed amount of AM in the signal interval o...
متن کاملAmplitude modulation reduces loudness adaptation to high-frequency tones.
Long-term loudness perception of a sound has been presumed to depend on the spatial distribution of activated auditory nerve fibers as well as their temporal firing pattern. The relative contributions of those two factors were investigated by measuring loudness adaptation to sinusoidally amplitude-modulated 12-kHz tones. The tones had a total duration of 180 s and were either unmodulated or 100...
متن کاملOn the amplitude- and frequency-modulation decomposition of signalsa)
In general, the problem of determining the amplitude and frequency modulations ~AM and FM! of a signal is ill posed because there is an unlimited number of combinations of AM and FM that will generate a given signal. Although Gabor proposed a method for uniquely defining the AM and FM of a signal, namely via the analytic signal, the results obtained are sometimes physically paradoxical. In this...
